Bishop Hieronymus Emusugut Joya of Maralal, Kenya, has suspended six diocesan priests as part of a sweeping package of measures. They are aimed at strengthening discipline and financial accountability. The suspensions follow allegations of abuse of ecclesiastical authority, administrative negligence, and the mismanagement of Church property. Announcing the decision during Mass on 12 July, Bishop Joya said he had acted only after receiving credible evidence. The suspensions affect a significant proportion of the diocese's clergy. Established by St. John Paul II in 2001, the diocese has 15 parishes served by 30 diocesan priests. Alongside the suspensions, Bishop Joya introduced a series of disciplinary and administrative directives for clergy, including: - Priests must return to their residences by 7:00 p.m. for evening prayer. - Priests require the bishop's permission to spend the night away from their residence. - No lay person may stay overnight in a priest's residence without prior …More

Truth Never Changes Despite Human Rebellion The gospel reading emphasizes the enduring nature of God’s law, stating that not a single detail will be lost until it is fulfilled. This is contrasted with the current societal trend of rejecting and criminalizing biblical teachings, particularly regarding marriage and human life. Fr. Altier urges us to uphold the truth of God’s word, despite opposition and persecution, as it is divinely inspired and unchanging. Fr. [Saint Catherine of Siena /Caterina di Benincasa/; XIV-XV Century AD; born: Siena, Republic of Siena/died: Rome, Papal States; aged 33; Spiritual Writer; Mystic; Virgin; Doctor of the Church] Of the imperfection of those who love GOD for their own profit, delight, and consolation. If, through a desire for perfection, they do not recognise this imperfection of theirs, it is impossible that they should not turn back. For those who desire Eternal Life, a pure love, prescinding from themselves, is necessary, for it is not enough for eternal life to fly sin from fear of punishment, or to embrace virtue from the motive of one's own advantage. Sin should be abandoned because it is displeasing to Me, and virtue should be loved for My sake. It is true that, generally speaking, every person is first called in this way, but this is because the soul herself is at first imperfect, from which imperfection she must advance to perfection, either while she Jives, by a generous love to Me with a pure and …More
"The soul who has climbed this step with servile fear and mercenary love alone, falls into many troubles. Such souls should arise and become sons, and serve Me, irrespective of themselves, for I, who am the Rewarder of every labour, render to each man according to his state and his labour ; wherefore, if these souls do not abandon the exercise of holy prayer and their other good works, but go on, with perseverance, to increase their virtues, they will arrive at the state of filial love, because I respond to them with the same love, with which they love Me, so that, if they love Me, as a servant does his master, I pay them their wages according to their deserts, but I do not reveal Myself to them, because secrets are revealed to a friend, who has become one thing with his friend, and not to a servant."
"One does not care for life by giving death," Father François Yambressinga, parish priest of La Madeleine in Châteaudun, said during his July 5 homily, before the French National Assembly's final vote on legalizing euthanasia tomorrow. He urged the faithful to "pray for life" and to "pray for parliamentarians so that they do not do just anything." Among the congregation was Philippe Vigier, the bill's general rapporteur. He is also the mayor of Châteaudun and a member of the National Assembly for Les Démocrates. Vigier attended the Mass because it was part of the town's annual Foire aux Laines medieval festival. Civic officials appear in costume. He sat in the front row dressed as the fifteenth-century military commander Jean de Dunois. Afterward, Vigier told L'Écho Républicain that he felt personally targeted and "deeply hurt" by the homily. "The priest appealed to the congregation while I had no opportunity to respond. That is unacceptable," he said. According to witnesses cited by …More

The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X is formally challenging the Vatican decree issued on 2 July by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith that excommunicated its six bishops. On 11 July, it filed the required preliminary appeal under canon law. According to the Society, this filing temporarily suspends the enforcement of the decree while the appeal process is underway. Communiqué of 13 July The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X announces that, in response to the decree issued on 2 July 2026 by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, it submitted on 11 July a preliminary recourse to the same Dicastery, in accordance with canons 1734 and following of the Code of Canon Law. This request, which constitutes the mandatory preliminary step before the possible introduction of a hierarchical recourse, has the effect of suspending the execution of the decree, in accordance with canon 1353 of the Code of Canon Law. By this recourse, the Society intends to exercise the right which …More
