Not Homosexuals, Catholics Must "Repent" - German Bishop

Auxiliary Bishop Ludger Schepers of Essen, the German Bishops' Conference's commissioner for homosexual propaganda, has urged Catholic parishes to become places where homosexuals can live "without fear".

Writing on Kirche-und-Leben.de on August 2, Bishop Schepers commented on the recent deadly attack during Berlin's homosexual march.

"Our parishes must be places where every person is welcome and experiences the inalienable dignity that God has given them. No one should ever have to fear prejudice, distrust, or rejection because of their sexual orientation or gender identity."

He attacked the Church, claiming gratuitously that she "has not always been a safe place for queer people," adding that biblical passages had too often been taken "out of context" and used against them.

Ludger Schepers contrasts what he calls "the Gospel's message of unconditional love" with "the experience of many queer people". This contradiction calls Catholics "to repent".

Looking to the global Church, Bishop Schepers warned that in some countries "discrimination" against homosexuals is reinforced by Church voices. "The Church must never allow itself to be shaped by cultural homophobia, but only by the Gospel of Jesus Christ," he wrote.

Pope Francis’s focus on the poor people as in the monetary sense to the detriment of poor sinners. What is worse to be poor as in money or to die a poor sinner? Which one will deny you Heaven? Who’s job is it to get us to Heaven? The Government or the Church?
There is two distinct roles the Church is specifically for poor sinners because there is NO other institution on earth for the forgiveness of sins. Here is where the Church denies Her Divine responsibility to administer Mercy to poor sinners.
Obviously it is the poor sinner what the Church is equipped by Christ to help.
As one gets closer to God through Confession the Church with no monetary incentive or assistance from
the Government as a corporal work of mercy cares for the poor.
Bishop Saunders was portrayed as a great Social Justice Warrior fighting for the marginalised, his focus should have been on “poor sinners”. How can I direct poor sinners away from an eternity of Hell towards Heaven? What is the role of the Church? Who else on earth has been given the power to forgive sins and form souls for a supernatural life in Heaven with the Holy Trinity?
